How to publish a website made with ChatGPT

ChatGPT gave you HTML code. Here is how to turn it into a real website on your own domain, with the cost and the steps.
Short answer
ChatGPT writes the code, but it can't put the website online. For that you also need a domain name (yourbusiness.com), hosting (a server that shows the files to visitors) and an SSL certificate. You can set these up yourself for little or no money, or pay someone to do it.
Step 1: get the whole site as files
If the site is still in the chat, ask ChatGPT to give it to you as one complete index.html.

(not .txt) and double-click it: if it opens correctly in your browser, you're good.
Several pages or image files? Put them all in one folder and compress it to a ZIP.
Step 2: choose where to host it

Step 3: the domain
Buy a domain from any registrar (a .com usually costs around $10–20 a year), then point it at your host by changing its nameservers. Our guide How to connect a domain to your AI-built website shows where to find that setting.
Step 4: the parts people often miss
- The contact form: ChatGPT forms usually look fine and send nothing. A static site needs a form service or a small script on the server to email you.
- Email on your domain: hosting a site doesn't create you@yourbusiness.com. That needs mail records (MX, SPF, DKIM) and a mailbox.
- Mobile check: open the site on a real phone. Look for text running off the screen and menus that don't open.
- Title and description: make sure every page has a real
<title>and meta description, or Google will make one up. - The AI tone: read the text out loud. If it says "elevate your experience", rewrite it the way you'd say it to a customer.
How long does it take?
